It is great pleasure to put this treatise in the hands of the first year Engineering students. There are number of books which deals separately with different spheres of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

But this book deals with all the Civil & Mechanical Engineering topics put together as per the common syllabus prescribed by Anna University (Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai & Tirunelveli). The subject matter is explained in simple and lucid language assisted by a number of self explanatory and neatly drawn sketches
