Due to overwhelming  response from the students and teaching

fraternity, the author 1s encouraged to bring out the revised edition of

the book.

In this edition, a new chapter on Interpolation has been added to

Suit the syllabus requirements of Madras University. Past University

question papers which are given at the end of the book, have been

updated upto November 2004.

The author feels grateful  to all for their unstinted support and hopes

that they will continue to do so, offering valuable comments and counsel.
