About Book:

      This book on calculus has been designed as a text book for B.Sc.  Mathematics Major of Madras University. The subject matter presented in this book fully covers the revised syllabus prescribed for paper II for the first year B.Sc.  Students in mathematics.

     In this revised edition new chapters on nth derivatives, Leibnitz theorem, length of an Area, Surface Area have been added to meet the syllabus requirements of madras University.

     In the preparation of the chapters in this book, knowledge of mathematics at the plus two level is assumed.  Enough care has been taken introducing the concepts in polar coordinates and all the basic results expected at this level are clearly derived.

      The knowledge of the differentiation is assumed while dealing the chapter on Radius of curvature.

     A special care has been taken in presenting Beta, Gamma functions.  A number of properties connecting them have been derived.  In all the chapters, fundamental concepts are clearly explained, and a number of illustrative examples have been worked out.  A fine collection of problems has been given in exercises for practice.
