PREFACE

The idea for writing this book struck me when I felt that there is a need for a simple and comprehensive book on “Digital Image Processing” to cater the needs of the student community. This book contains seven chapters covering all the topics of Anna University syllabi and some additional topics that are necessary for clear and better understanding about the subject. Each and every chapter is assembled with subsections and whatever appropriate, solved problems are given at the end of the topic. At the end of each chapter, all possible two mark question with answers have been provided. Appendix has been compiled for the benefit of students with solved University question papers of previous years starting from 2007.

This book was conceived with the idea of benefiting the engineering students and am sure that the readers will gain basic information and comprehensive idea on digital image processing after reading this book.
