About Book:
Subject on “Financial Management” has been newly introduced at U.G. Level in various universities only very recently. Earlier it had been taught only at P.G. and Research Levels where its importance was felt necessary. Now-a-days, as finance is considered as an important aspect in all walks of life due to stiff competition from national and international levels, emergence of large scale businesses, which increased the need for finance greatly, academicians suggested the introduction of the subject at basic levels also. It enables the candidates who studied the subject upto U.G. level to occupy various posts in finance companies also.
Though there are a good number of standard books on “Financial Management”, as I have already authored books on “Investment Management, and “Business Organisation” that are somehow related to finance, I thought it will be worthwhile if I write a book on financial management also.
The book covers the entire syllabus of “Financial Management for the B.Com, B.B.A. & B.Sc. (1.S.M) students of Madras University.
The book has been written using simple language and style of presentation to enable the readers to approach the book frankly, friendly and freely and to make them understand the various concepts, principles, techniques, etc., thoroughly.
Wherever the topics permit problems with solutions and also exercises have been provided sufficiently not only to understand the subject clearly but also to face the examination confidently.
