About Book:

          It is matter of pride for me to present this thoroughly revised fifth edition of “Fundamentals of Engineering Heat And Mass Transfer” in its present form. I am overwhelmed by the appreciations and critical response received for the earlier editions of the book from both the students and faculty in engineering

          In preparing this edition, as before. I have remained true to the dual objective of understanding the physical phenomenon involved and retaining a rigorous and systematic methodology of problem solving. A thorough effort has been made to rectify the mistakes and misprints in the earlier edition. The subject matter has also been thoroughly revised to address a broad array of technological advances made in the recent years. A List of Important Formulae and Equations used in each Chapter has been assembled and presented at the end of this book. Some Important Mathematical Relations and Functions are given in a new Appendix C. Also  Appendix D gives a summary of the SI units used throughout the discussion.

           I hope that the present revised edition with its new get-up (multi-colour avatar) will add to its utility to the students, faculty and practicing engineers in the heat transfer community. Any comments and suggestions from the readers for further updating and improvement of this book will be highly appreciated and gratefully acknowledged
