About Book:

      The study of India Economy is a prerequisite for any undergraduate students of commerce. I have been teaching this subject for over 20 years and the consent  demand from my students has been to simplify and demystify it.

     In this book Indian Economy, I have attempted to present a simplified treatment of the subject without compromising on its rigor. The book is a culmination of my class notes painstakingly fine-tuned over 2 years

      The book has in all 19 chapters. The first two chapters explain about the Indian Economy ,its characteristics and its condition. Followed by the important problems of the Indian Economy were discussed in depth.

     Further, Infrastructure and Foreign trade were dealt in a comprehensive manner. Chapters 8,9 &10 give a clear picture about the Indian FYP and covered up to the latest Five Years plans.

     Chapters 11 through 15 cover the primary secretary of Agriculture in India, Green Revolution and Irrigation. Land reforms and food problems have been given adequate coverage in easy-to- understand manner.

     The last three chapters deal with the small Scale and Large Scale Industries and new Economic Reforms.

     The book also features appropriate figures and  graphical representations, end-of-chapter review questions and University questions papers. I really hope students will find this book useful.
