There are excellent classical as well as modern texts on the subject Mechanics of Solids by both foreign and Indian authors. However, a single book meeting the syllabus requirements in full is not available; a simple, concise and comprehensive text book is not available. To meet this requirement an attempt has been made in this book in a novel format.
