PREFACE

This book explores the field of Telehealth Technology inline with the syllabi prescribed by Anna University – Chennai. It has been designed to help the students to understand the subject easily and prepare for the University Examinations.

With clear, straightforward text and appropriate illustrations, this book brings an active style of learning related to Telemedicine and associated technologies.

The book is organized into five units. Unit I has general information and the orgins of Tele Health, Unit II deals with Telecommunications systems required to establish a Telemedicine Center, Unit III covers Telemedical Standards, Unit IV consists of topics in Mobile Telemedicine and final Unit V encompasses some of the applications of Telemedical technology.

Hope this book will prove beneficial to the entire student community who are pursuing the course at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. All suggestions for the improvement of the book will be highly appreciated and acknowledged.
