About Book:
I take this opportunity to present a standard treatise entitled “Transmission lines and Waveguides‘ ‘ to all the students of Electronics and Communication of the In Universities in general. The object of the book is to present the subject in a more compact to the point and lucid manner.
All along the approach to the subject matter, care has been taken to arrange the matter from simplex to harder, known to unknown in a self-study style. A large number of typical examples have been worked out so that the reader can understand the related concept clearly
Chapter I represents a general introduction to the basic concepts of Transmission lines. It also explains lines with and without distortion, open circuited and short circuited lines and the simple concepts of reflection in a Transmission line..
Chapter 2 deals with Quarter Wave Line and impedance matching using single anddouble stub matching and the Smith Chart.
Chapter 3 is devoted to Guided Waves, the characteristics of TL and TM Wed the various parameters for guided waves in between two parallel planes
Chapter 4 is dedicated to Rectangular Waveguides and the field equations for TE and TM waves, Attenuation and power transmission for the TE, and TM,, modes are explained in detail
Chapter 5 deals with the description and analysis of circular waveguides and Rescezon It explains the attenuation and Q factor of Waveguides and the excitation of modes as circular waveguides. It also introduces the concept of Resonators like Microwave, coul and cavity resonators
In short I expect this book will satisfy the needs of students without any specific prerequisite except for a basic knowledge of electric circuits and their behavior. It also provides a logical method for explaining and it provides very carefully a background of the topic with essential illustration.
